Shray helped me achieve the seemingly impossible feat of doing the Full Ironman in the first attempt itself. His comprehensive guidance in daily activities, nutrition and time management was critical in getting ready for the D-day. He persuaded me to get the right tools like the road cycle, watch and exercise equipment. I got complete guidance throughout the 6 month training with the exact routine on my watch that I simply had to follow. The frequent messages and calls for motivation kept me going. It gave me immense confidence when I achieved a sub-2 hour Half Marathon and consistently increased my endurance levels and speed in all segments of the Ironman without injuries. I owe my first Ironman completion to his coaching without which it would have been unthinkable.

Working with Shray over the last few months has been an amazing experience. Though I have been running for a few years, I never had a fixed running schedule or a plan. Shray helped me set realistic goals and crafted a training plan focused on not just completing races but also getting faster and fitter. The workouts are always fun yet challenging and we were slowly able to build on both speed and endurance. Being a triathlete himself, Shray is an extremely knowledgeable and dedicated coach and there is so much to learn from his own personal experiences and achievements. I highly recommend DesiTriCoaching and Shray to anyone looking to start or up their running game.

I learnt about Desi Tri Coaching back in 2019, when I was preparing for Mt. Everest and one of my strongest athlete friend was using Shray’s guidance for Ironman triathlon.

Working with Shray has been a great learning experience and growth journey (which is just getting started, even after ~3 years). As an amateur athlete, I always had a lot of questions, trust issues, room for improvement, misinformation, highs and lows, and Shray’s coaching helped me strive not only in the death zone at places like Mt. Everest, but also helped me pull off a 70.3 distance triathlon.

Having a structured scientific training plan saves me a lot of time and money, because I can invest my energy and time in the most efficient way while also avoiding a lot of injuries (for e.g. I make more progress in 12 hour training weeks over 6 months than I did in 20 hour training weeks, having the extra bandwidth to balance other stuff in life or make more money). Coaching also helps having accountability and but one needs at have some level of self-discipline to make the most of it.

Being a motivational coach / professional mentor to many across fields and having worked with multiple coaches in life, I can assure that none of the good endurance coaches would give as much time or support, whereas DesiTri Coaching has surprisingly always responded in a few hours and offered me calls on very short notices, all while charging less than half of the median market prices for comparable services.

I don’t think I’d ever want to train or chase goals without a coach after realising the value, rather I’ll outsource the planning and focus on execution to become the better version of myself, every single day for the rest of my life and hope that this review helps

I have been training with Shray for the last 9 months and have come a long way thanks to his guidance and meticulous training program. He is flexible and understanding with your schedule but also just the right amount of 'strict' to make sure you push yourself. Although the whole journey seemed like a slow and thankless one in the beginning, sticking to the program helped me see my hard work paying off soon enough. Shray takes you from the level you are at and builds you up to push yourself and outdo your own expectations - he is a solid coach!
